Do any of you think that there is a descrempancy between ideas and reality to our life in America? I do... Why do you think there is a descrepancy? For me...its the whole example of us going to Iraq to free people from tyranny but turning out to be what is shown on tv every single day.

I have a teenage student with autism and who is ambidextrous. I am working with him on his fine motor skills. My question is ….are there any resources out there for teaching students who have no left/right handed dominance to write? I want to know if I should make him pick a writing hand and stick with it. If I let him switch hands as often as he wants to, I'm uncertain that the writing practice is actually getting stuck in his motor memory. Thanks.

Is there research into the effects on classes that require real work, like math and physics, from classes that show movies every day, like history and criminal justice? It seems like the kids just want to be entertained.

I have a good grasp of the basics and now I feel that I'm ready to progress to conversational Spanish. I know the best way is to live in a Spanish speaking country, but for right now I'm interested in studying at home. What are some good options?

I am having behavior problems with a particular student of mine...he is a wonderful worker in my Language Arts class, but in study hall, his behavior is completely different. He says it is because there are no grades in study hall, so there's no reprucussions to his grade if he doesn't behave. Detentions don't seem to be a deterrant. I think he just wants teacher attention (which is what he gets from detention)...ideas to make this into a positive situation?

My teacher is an idiot and told us we had to memorize all these bones by tomorrow. However, he does this a lot and many times he is just testing us. Just in case, I want to know most I can. What is the best way to learn these? He gave us a picture of the skeleton and we wrote the parts' names. Would it be better to just copy the picture and then fill in the blanks?
Thanks.
