I have a good grasp of the basics and now I feel that I'm ready to progress to conversational Spanish. I know the best way is to live in a Spanish speaking country, but for right now I'm interested in studying at home. What are some good options?

I basically learned Spanish by watching the Spanish channel. I'm not sure which channels are in your area, but Telemundo and Univision are two popular Spanish channels. I prefer to watch Telemundo because they have some great novelas (soap operas) which are very intriguing to watch. See if your cable provider enables you to turn on captions, so you'll be able to see the Spanish words as they're speaking. I'm able to turn on captions using my cable remote. This is great for learning.

Although watching TV is a great way to learn, it can be quite difficult to follow along at first because they speak very fast, but I found another great way to learn Spanisn that will get you up to speed. Check it out: http://www.supremespanish.com

This is somewhat similar to watching TV in which it consists of listening to conversations except with this you're able to listen to them in fast and slow speed, and they also have the English translation so it's really easy and a great way to learn. I've been using this for a while and it works great!

Really if you want to practice conversational Spanish you need someone to converse with. If that is not possible then I suggest immersing yourself the best you can. Try to watch as much Spanish language TV as possible. If you can meet Spanish speakers or join a Spanish club it would be ideal.
You could try some Spanish chat rooms, but without voice it will just be written, but can still help with your vocabulary and sentence structures.

Good luck!
