That's exactly the kind of job you should try to be educated for. There is a huge demand for trained vetinarians and given time, the charge will appear less and less important to anyone doing a background check. The alternative is to become a truck driver and who wants to do that for the rest of their life?

Having a felony charge can seem like the end of the world, and depending on the nature of the charge, it can be. But it's not like you murdered anybody. You might want to seek professional counselling, since what you're describing seems to be a bit like depression. Counselling can lead you to the right answers -- your own answers that you have hidden away inside you. There may be a program at your campus that's free of charge. You should check.

Job prospects will depend on the nature of the felony. For example, if you were convicted of grand theft, and the "grand" was included because the value of the property was just enough to warrant that label, it may make little difference to SOME employers.

It will also depend on the exact nature of the job, and whether the crime relates to the work,

I guess my point is that there WILL be some employers who will toss the application away without looking at anything but the felony. On the othe hand, there will be some who will ask you the nature of the crime and still, at least, consider you for employment.

Enough people will recognize that folks can change. Considering your age now, I imagine you were young when you got busted. Certainly the effort you put into completing the work needed for your degree should count for a lot.

The felony record will probably limit the places that may hire you. A lack of degree will CERTAINLY limit the oppotunities for the higher paying jobs. If others stand in your way, that's one thing. If you put up roadblocks for yourself, that's another.

If you succeed in your endevours you could probably still be given a job or do the American thing and start your own veterinary practice. Just graduate first then you can start down the path of employment. It appears you were very young when you committed this act and I have no doubt you are sorry for your actions. Remember you did hurt someone, but all can be forgiven if you are truly remorseful.

Don't give up. Good luck
