It's 5:30 am. I reluctantly drag my body out of bed, pick out clothes for the day and walk into my bathroom. After getting ready, I go downstairs to eat my breakfast and at 7:00 I sit down at my desk and start school. You see, I’m home schooled and have been ever since 7th grade. While I used to think that this negatively affected some aspects of my life (such as a smaller group of friends than I would like to have), I have come to realize that being home schooled has definitely had an outstanding effect on my love of learning

Are we becoming so focused with teaching our children so much in academics that we have decided not to pay attention to things like family, friends or expressing themselves? Why can't they do more work in classrooms and leave home/family time more free?

Should there be homework on holidays?

Should we speak up or start a movement!?

Studies have shown that if we give our children too much homework over time, they will do worse on standardized testing! (All grades apply)

I just started the school year and I can't get a hold of the chemistry ap book because the school says they ran out.
Its causing me a lot of trouble. I've been staying up late because i have to keep making phone calls to friends and photocopying and looking up information online because I dont have a textbook infront of me when I NEED one to do the homework. I've been staying up until about.. 5:30 in the morning doing homework. Which only gives me 30 minutes of sleep. so... I'm pretty miserable. :(

I asked my school if I could have a book but they told me that I couldnt have one unless another student drops the class and gives up their book.

I just want to know..

IS THIS LEGAL? is my public high school required by law to provide me with the textbooks I need for my classes instead of just WAITING to see if someone's going to drop out of the class?

My parents pay taxes do they not..?

I know, I know, Everyone is going to say the 3rd Dimention, but when you think of it this way, wouldn't we be living in the 6th Dimention?...

In movies, they are 2D (We can see them and we can hear them, right?) In 3D movies not only can we hear them and see them, but they also become more than just front and back, they now have sides, let's say they're bulgy. In 4D movies, you can either feel something like water being sprayed on you or something along that line, so now we have 4D (Sight, Hearing Them, Feeling, and 'Bulgy-ness').

So, considering we have all 5 senses and we are 'bulgy' then wouldn't this be 6D or the 6th Dimention?

I've been wondering this for quite some time, and please don't answer if all you're going to say is "This is the 3rd Dimention". Give me a reason of why I am wrong.

Thank You In Advance.

I'm a sophomore but this time, I'm not going 20 miles away from home, I'm going to Tokyo for the year, and I'm only coming back once in february. I'm going alone too, so I need to pack light. My dorm room pretty much has nothing. Desk, chair, dresser, bed, air conditioner, curtain is pretty much all the brochure said. Am I supposed to bring like one suitcase worth of clothes to last me 5 or 6 months? Help me out, anybody who's ever gone away far to college. remember I need to bring whatever I pack on the plain with me, then carry it from the airport onto a train, and then its about half a mile walk to the dorm.

Does anyone know where these classes are offered this semester in the afternoon, like 6-ish? Do online courses metriculate, or are they pretty much a rip off? Please help.
