After high school you need to go to a 4 year university or college. Most people going in the medical field do a program in college called pre-med. Then after that you will have to go to medical school. Many universitys and bigger colleges have medical programs. Medical school should take about 4 years. After medical school you will have to do 3 years of residency. Residency is basically when you are observing and practicing. You have a licensed docter there to guide you. If you have ever watched the show greys anatomy the the stars of the show are interns and they are in residency. After completing residensy then you will have to pass a really hard test and get you license. After getting your license you officially a doctor! Good luck if your going to do it!

You couldn't be a Dr. or MD, etc coming out of high school but if you took some specialized classes in a trade school or high school you could be a dental assistant for example, or maybe some other health care assistant. Depending on the classes, and the general law in the community.
