When you include R.S.V.P. usually it is accompanied by a phone number so that the person being invited can call you to let you know if they can come. Just put it at the end of your letter.

The letters R. S. V. P. stand for respondez s'il vous plait, which is French for "please reply." The letters are placed at the bottom of a written invitation to an event such as a dinner party, and request that the invitee tell the host whether he expects to attend. The letters are not otherwise used in correspondence.

'répondez s'il vous plaît", RSVP indicates that we have to respond to the invitation so that the inviter can count the people attending and make necessary arrangements for food, tables, napkins, gifts (if any) etc. We have to tell the inviter whether we are coming or send regrets for not attending, with or without excuses. It as a basic need and turned into an etiquette. Hope somebody can coin a better legend on invitation that everybody understands.
Example: Please RSVP to Telephone No.xxxx or Address:xxxxxx ( so people can guess what it is )
