The tipping protocol scares me. Do I tip the maitre d' separately from what I will add to the bill? If so, how is that accomplished? Will he be expecting something as he seats us? Etc, etc?
Please help.

establishments for that matter? I mean look at the millions of cows slaughtered, and all the devastation to the forests to make way for pasture, just so that cows can graze for the 'factory farming of burgers'.
We gotta eat.....BUT EAT BURGERS?
P.S. The best MacDonalds I have ever seen was in Italy (VERONA) Nearly everything on show was a magnificent display of alternative Italian style food. I do eat burgers but only as a last resort when there is nothing else nearby.

When ordering food to go from a restaurant how much should you tip? What about when you phone in an order and pick it up? They always give you the folder with a slip that allows for tip, but why are you tipping and if so how much?

We were on vacation and stopped at the Artisan Center in Berea and there is a homosexual man who works there and he did not make it a secret he was gay. Is it safe to eat the food after he has fixed it? Could you get any diseases if he was infected. We would not eat there because we didn't know.

Just recently I went to Wendy's and I ordered a small drink and a small fry. They gave me a soda that's usually the size of a medium drink. I asked if they made a mistake and they said that it was no mistake and it was a small. Then I looked at the fries and they were bigger too. I was told that the reason Europe is so much skinnier than America is because they have smaller portions. For example, Their size large is the size of our kiddy cup. But instead of following them, we went the total opposite way. Why?

I'm looking for true deep dish pizza. Not just thick crust, but true chicago-style which is similar to an actual "pie" in which the toppings are much thicker than the crust. Think of a pumpkin pie where the crust is the pizz crust, and the filling is the toppings ( sauce, cheese, pepperoni, etc). True Chicagoans know what I mean.

If you had a choice between two restaurants, one that sold good burgers for $1 and the other that sold them for $2, but the more expensive burgers were "organic" (or whatever the craze is), would you buy the healthier one or save $$$ with the cheaper one?

Sometimes you see another kind of restaurant, like Chinese, that delivers, but it's much less common than pizza delivery. Why?
