If the weather is nice enough how about a carriage ride through downtown. If Navy Pier is open you might go there.You might also check on clubs nearby, and enjoy a drink and some music.
There are also some cool tours offered through Chicago.

If this is a group event, go to clubs in Clarke ave, or lounges in the Chicago downtown. If this involves your "significant other", take him out dancing, or wind down and relax at home, or walk by the lake side or in Grant Park.
Ever thought of spending the rest of the night in the couch in your place?(learning more about the other person??).

Take em to a restuarant in Greek town (Halsted and racine) it has late night roof top seating, cant think of the name but anyone working on greek town will be sure to let you know !

take your date on a walk through the downtown ( that is if you're not tired in the high heels).
or go dance more - that's fun too ( excalibur, vision - I suppose, you're tourists?).
