It's a Sony, model #KV-32566, I think it is a 32".
This is the problem, the picture does come on and we have sound. No sooner it is on the picture goes black, then it continously blinks a picture then a black screen about every few seconds.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

When I watch tv the picture is great but when I watch a widescreen show or movie I notice where there is no picture and the screen is black there are some really light white dots. You cant really see them but you can if you acutually stare at it. Does anyone know why this is happenning?

Sky+ remote does not cause IR light to blink and there is no remote control. I'm forced to change channels etc. manually. Spoke to Sky and they said replace remote, but I'm uncertain whether problem is with remote or with IR eye itself on the 'box. Is there a way to test if IR on 'box is receiving signals? Alternatively can I check whether remote is sending signal out?

What do/did you think about it? I think they're wonderful, save for the fact that they can only be viewed directly, and not at an angle.
That's their only downfall. They're also fantastic for home theater.

How do you fix this? I hear it is the horizontal control module thingy and is supposed to be a heatsink like device. I want to resodder it to get the TV working but don't know what the unit is. The TV is a JVC C-20WL5 US2 version.

The TV picture is very nice looking when it works. It works once it first starts then flickers and turns into a line. You hit it on the side and then it works for a few seconds. Audio is fine.

Pictures of the board:

Can someone point on the thing I need to sodder??

I want to buy a 32" LCD for our bedroom. However, we will not have an HDTV cable box in that room and therefore will be watching lots of basic cable.

Reading reviews, alot of people complain about the picture for non-HD channels on plasma/LCD tv's. Any suggestions or wisdom?

I just bought a new cable TV for my apartment in the university residence. When I get it plugged in and set to cable (not air) there are really bad ghosts on most (not all) of the channels. I don't have a car so I can't drag the TV all the way back to the store- what could I do to fix this problem? Would an antenna help get the picture clearer?
