While many others have view your question and given a completely worthless answer, I will try to help. Are you hooked up to cable? With a box? If so, try the cable right into it, by pass the box. Is it on all channels? Only a few? Finally, if your just bought this, then chances are very good that it is under warranty. I would suggest calling the manufacture.

As much as I dislike TV also and think it can easily be an excessive waste of time, I will help you with what I know. THe green 'bleeding you see on your TV means your TVis bad. Doesnt matter how new it is, one of the tubes cracked and the green you are seeing on your scree is the result. I would call the manufactureer and bring it to their attention so in the future they can inprove the quality of their product (and maybe provide you a replacement)

Usually there is a 1 yr. warranty on TV parts. Sounds like the green video driver transistor could have shorted. This is a minor repair but try for warranty from the place you bought it from (they will probably charge you labor, so if it costs too much just replace it)

Good!
Throw it away and never buy another one.
You will be amazed at all the stuff you can get done when you are not attached to it.
I haven't watched TV in years and I don't miss it.
I couldn't tell you ONE program that is on and what time or even day it is on. My family and I will watch a movie now and then and that is it. Most of the time it just sits there, it will probably last us for the rest of our lives. heehee.
