Delving back in time and dredging up the lower recesses of my memory I did indeed have a TV magnifier ! The year was 1956 and a 9 inch tube was the norm !!The magnifier was oil filled and hung on the front of the screen , it was about 6inches thick ! If you all sat close together on the settee nice and friendly like then a few people could watch , if some one in a drunken rage hit the thing with a hammer then it took several weeks to clean up all the oil ----- happy days !!!!
