I have a 27" crt INSIGNIA TV model number IS-TV040923 that has blocked channels. It asks for a v-chip password. I have tried to clear it but i am unable. I have called Best Buy where I purchased it and they are no help at all. I have called Insignia tech support but they won't help either because it has no warranty left. I know its a simple solution but I don't know it! I am tired of having several channels with the ugly blue screen!

Does a TV use the same amount of power if it's doing nothing, sitting idle on Video 2 (or whatever) .. vs. actually doing something or playing something on TV ?

I've tried a RCA and Advent universal remotes but they only provide basic control. I can't get cable channels until I find a way to get to the menu function and select "Auto Scan". Is there another way .... other than replacing the TV? Magnasonic MCT5524.

Now i asked this question before:

A gentleman kindly answered:

NO! But are you thinking of bringing a TV set from the US over to Europe? I ask this, because it seems to me much easier to buy a PAL system B/G/I TV when you arrive in Europe. They are not all that expensive! Most of the PAL world uses 625 lines at 25 frames per second, apart from Brazil which uses PAL-M. The US TV would not only have the wrong colour system, but also the wrong line and field standard, and the tuner would not cover the correct channel spacing, if you tried to use it in Europe.Therre is also a minor difference between the PAL (I) system used in UK and the PAL (B and G) used in most of Europe.

Important: Now, the thing is people in Asia use NTSC TVs as well as other NTSC Devices all the time,so IT DOES WORK but i needed to know what type of converter is required for compatibility.I spoke 2 a Sony Expert who said id need to buy a 50 Htz Compatible(50hz/60hz) converter, so ne 1 know bout this cnvrtr?

I just bought a Sony KDF-50E2000. The over-the-air HD is awesome and crystal clear and bright. However, my DVD player (in progressive or interlaced) is sharp, but lacks color. It is somewhat stuck on a grayscale I can't overcome. I know how much contrast there can be between the bright and dark levels, but can't achieve it with my DVD player.

Are there any ways I can correct this problem beyond changing picture control, brightness, etc.?

Thinking of moving to Spain. We have a multi-regional DVD player since we have DVDs from other parts of the world and still want to watch them. Currently we play back through a British TV set, will it play back through a Spanish TV or will we have to take our British TV?

Sky called me up last Friday advising that I could upgrade to Sky World (films and sports) for an additional £2 per month for next 3 months. I currently pay £21 p/m. I confirmed 3 times to her that I will be paying £23 p/m and she confirmed. I though it was a good deal so I took them up on the offer. Today (Friday) I recd my direct debit confirmation, with the new amount of £32.25 and not £23 as confirmed over the phone. I rang them up at their call centre, who advised me the £32 is correct, and they can only cancel my package. I asked if their calls were recorded, she said that calls from customers to them were but as the person who call me was from an outsourced centre they werent. I asked her to speak to this outsourced centre and she said she couldnt as they have no contact with them. Surely this is a stupid way to run a business with no communication between outgoing calls to customers and the call centre. Have I got any rights as to recieving the product at the price confirmed?

Can anybody who's had experience with this, please anser.

I want to buy a plasma 42" LG tv because its the best I can afford. I will be using it for watching Satellite TV, Playstation & DVD. There are cheaper ones but I am scepticle.

What is a 16:9 aspect ratio.. or any ratio for that matter. Does it really effect the way I will be seeing the images.

What is HDTV? Some plasmas have HDTV & others dont while some are HDTV ready. Do I really need it?

I hope to get simple feedback please
