Some people believe that some microchips can be wiped or reset by subjecting them to cold temperatures.

If the chip in a SKY card is affected in any way it will most probably be rendered unreadable by your sky box. Unless you have an old card kicking around somewhere that you want to try this with I would advise you not to try it.

I first heard this rumour when discussing security passwords on PDAs. I wasn't dumb enough to shove my PDA in the freezer back then and I'm not dumb enough to try it now.

I love this idea that sticking something in the freezer for a period of time somehow bypasses security codes and settings. Over the years, a chav's freezer will have contained stolen car stereos to get them to drop their code protection, stolen moble-phones to get them unlocked, DVD players to get them region-free, stolen laptops to get them to drop security passwords, and now Sky cards. I wonder what it will be next?

By the way, it's all Bollocks!!

stick it in the microwave for 10 minutes and then put it into your sky box. Be carefull when taking the card out of the microwave as it will be very hot. .

The only likely outcome if you try to freeze the chip on your Sky card is criminal prosecution.
