Is it blue (VGA) or white (DVI)?

If it's white, then it's DVI, which is a digital input for PCs with compatible video cards or a high definition device, such as the new Sky boxes.

dvd nowadays have built in vga output which will be compatible to your monitor.the thing is,what ever terminal it has (vga or dvi) go to the dvd set up. browse video output then you'll find the setting vga,dvi,video,etc. select then exit.good luck ..(",)
