You can transfer the content of a vhs tape to a dvd, the only thing is that it may or may not have a protective feature that prevents this, depending on how old it is. Sometimes this can be defeated with the right equipment. You can look in the phone book under video production services or something similar, they will probably want to know that you don't intend to sell it and that it's just for personal use. Just give it to a place where they convert VHS to DVD. for around $6 to $10

you still have to have a vcr but what you get is a video card with inputs and a good video capture software. then you play the vhs on your comp and capture the video and then you need software to convert that to dvd. im sure there is a different way but thats the cheapest but maybe not the most efficient

I bought a TV card for my PC, cost me $65 at Bestbuy, It came with a connection to hook up a vcr. It also came with recording software, then i burn to a dvd

Yes, but you'd need a VCR to do it. VCRs are, like, $20 in the first place.

yes, there are DVD/VHS player, you can record a show in dvd or vhs.
Or, take a vhs, like your 1st steps video and record it to dvd that way you can burn it then save it

there are dvd burners you can buy with a vhs on one side and a dvd burner on the other side. you could buy one and then return it after you burn the dvd. i think they sell em at circuit city and walmart and sears and stuff

yes you can, you can either get it done proffessionally or you can buy a player that accomadates both and then you can record directly...they cost about AUD$650
