Sky+ remote does not cause IR light to blink and there is no remote control. I'm forced to change channels etc. manually. Spoke to Sky and they said replace remote, but I'm uncertain whether problem is with remote or with IR eye itself on the 'box. Is there a way to test if IR on 'box is receiving signals? Alternatively can I check whether remote is sending signal out?

test signal from remote by using it to turn tv vol up and down... re-boot the sky box, by unplugging it for 30'secs...then asking someone to plug it in as you press back-up and power on at the same time......

Just get rid and get a freeview box instead of lining Rupert Murdoch's pockets and having crap beamed into your home every day
