Okay, so it's a common belief that by using a GPS navigation system that people with access to the GPS system can track your whereabouts. I've heard this from several people.

The belief even goes into the idea that you can be tracked via unpowered electronic indentification chips using the same system.

The obvious question for this is how can something be tracked electronically if it doesn't transmit of a radio signal? Most GPS navigation systems are simply recievers of GPS satellite data, unpowered RFID chips simply bounce back a signal from a close range transmitter such as those found in shops that set off alarms when you walk out the door. There is no longe range intrusion of privacy incurred, in fact there is more risk of that whenever your mobile phone is turned on and transmitting a signal.

Why do people think that by submitting themselves to GPS navigations systems, and even to ID chips, that their location can be tracked internationally? Are they simply misinformed?

I'm OK with CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD by itself, but the plus and minus terminology for the DVD disks baffles me.

Ok, here's the deal. For Christmas, I have a large star that I made last year out of rope light and blinking lights that I put on the mast (pole) that holds my weather station. This year, I'm adding another additional star inside the big star made of blue lights to signify the son we are expecting in April. I also wanted to put a single LED flashing light in the smaller star for a heartbeat (and to piss off the neighbors... hee hee). My problem is this: I've bought a battery operated LED strobe light that you're supposed to use on a bike, while running, etc. The documentation says that the light will run for about 100 hours - not near enough for the christmas season. I want to figure out something that will let me power up the blinking LED's with the power that is already going to the lights on the star, but I can't find anything out there that is a AC powered LED blinker/strobe. I also can run DC up the pole if needed, say from a 6 volt lantern battery. Any ideas?

I have a small crack in the corner of my laptop. I tried "SuperGlue" but it didn't hold at all probably because this laptop is made of a different type of plastic material. Does anyone have any good experiences with a fast glue that will actually work on hard plastic products. I was told this is a plastic "PVC" product that SuperGlue doesn't work on. All you computer buffs should have an answer for this one. Thanks in advance.

I read about a month ago on a local newspaper on a new tech section of this turntable. Maybe is not released yet, but with the holydays in the corner, I thought is the right timetable to market. Where?

I have a new Magnavox DVD/VCR combo (MWD2206A) and everytime I play a DVD or Video, the sound is mono and not stereo. I tried plugging the audio cables in, but I don't think I'm doing it right. I have a Polaroid 15" HD-Ready TV. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm really bad with electronics like this. Thanks!!
