Can anyone tell me how to make a easy step electrical device?

I'm doing a science project and im not sure what to create now, can anyone please tell me like 5 step process to make a good electrical device please and if you do it good, i will give you a best answer!

You don't say how old you are, but if you only get five steps, here you go:

1) Get enameled copper wire, a D cell battery, and a big nail.
2) Wrap the wire around the nail, in a coil, with one wrap up against the next wrap for the length of the nail.
3) Scrape all the enamel off the copper wire at both ends for about 1/2 in (1 cm)
4) Connect one end to the plus and the other to the negative.

You just built an electromagnet. You should be able to pick up small bits of steel, like pins or metal filings with the nail.

Look up electromagnetism on the web or in the library for more about what else it is used for...
