No, The laser is very low powered and isn't pointing in one place but scanning (which reduces the power on any particular point by a factor of million or so)

All equipment with lasers in have warning stickers - even CD players. That doesn't mean that they are dangerous. Just means that if you took it apart and put your eye right in front of the laser for a few hours when it was switched on, you might do some damage.

Yes there is a warning sticker tacked onto every one of those scanners that says not to look at the red beam directly.
