It's got all these funny pieces that look like you're supposed to be able to use them for something else - like the white plastic part that I can fit my iPod into, and that looks like it's supposed to slide into something else to hold up the iPod...does anybody know what I'm supposed to do with it? I didn't find any instructions.

Each time I put a music CD in my "D" drive with iTunes open. Windows Media Player tries to take over.I'd be quite happy to disable it but dont want to remove it completely.Ive selected iTunes as default under 'PREFERENCES' but it seems that windows XP gives favour to its own player...irritating me.Thanks

If you have an Ipod can you use any music on it as long as it's not in WMA format? Or does it HAVE to be from Apple's Itunes?

I'm looking to get my father an ipod or mp3 player, but he isn't much on listening to music. He likes to listen to the books on tap/cd stuff. The books on cd can be from 12-30 some hours worth of data, and my stepmother can get the cd's from the library and then rip them on the computer. So which would be better to have, and what size of mp3 or ipod would i need?

the 8gb ipod nano says it holds up to 2000 songs. My 6gb mp3 player says that it holds up to 3000 songs. Why does the ipod have a bigger hard drive but it holds less songs?

Am I doing something Wrong or is my i-pod faulty? mp3 tracks downloaded onto i-tunes or windows media player playback perfectly on these media players and download onto ipod nano ok. Tracks selected on i-pod nano play back perfectly through media players when ipod is connected to pc but when I try to playback through any earphones when not connected to pc ( I have tried several sets of earphones) the music is tinny and the vocals are quiet and echo as if being sung in a wind tunnel. Tried phoning technical advise helpline several times but I don't speak the advisors' language and they can't make themselves understood in mine.
