If you have an Ipod can you use any music on it as long as it's not in WMA format? Or does it HAVE to be from Apple's Itunes?

iPods utilize the transfer and coding software only available in iTunes. If you have music on your computer that isn't in iTunes you can transfer it into iTunes by using the ADD FOLDER option under the file menu and just select the file in which your music is saved. Then connect your iPod and your music should transfer automatically based on your iTunes settings.

The music must be iTunes in order to upload them onto your iPod. However, if you do have music files on your computer in WMA format, iTunes will convert them when you click to add them to your music.

To make the file playable...No

You'll need to import those songs into iTunes and then download it to the iPod. You can just put the songs on the iPod but then it won't recognize it as a song, just a file.

No, it does not have to be from itunes. I have several songs on my ipod that i got from other online stores. It's easy to get them on your ipod. Putting itunes songs on other devices, however, is much more complicated.
