I tried charging it but gives me the same problem an charging it through the usb cable.

I tried to charge it using the wall charger but it won't work and tried to used it through a usb cable.

dont listen to the guys above me they dont know what they are talking about ! there is nothing wrong with it i especially if its brand new! had the same problem with my psp i was charging it through the usb port and it didnt charge. if u dont want to go through a lot of trouble get a real charger the kind that goes into your wall like a home charger that will charge it. i wish u mentioned the brand that it is because i could give u more info. if its a ipod go to the ipod store im not sure what the web address is just put ipod accessories in the yahoo search field that should give u the site where u can find a charger for ur mp4 player if its a samsung try there website samsung.com for chargers or whatever brand it is try there website like if its audiovox try audiovox.com u get the picture. if u still want to go the hard route and charge through a usb check in the device manager or control panel on ur computer and see if the settings are correct like if its turned off or on it might be hard to know which usb port is which if u have more than one obviously. i would say try a differnt usb port maybe that one works or maybe the usb cable doesnt work. . i would just get a real charger hope this helps! happy hoildays :)

If the USB cable you're using came with the mp4 player you purchased, then perhaps there's something wrong with your player. However, if it's from something else, you should probaly buy a separate wall charger designed specifically for your device. I had the same issue with two different mp3's. One's USB cord didn't fit into the other, even though it looked about the same size from eyeball view.
Also, different wall chargers have different power, so the wallcharger you have probaly doesn't give as much voltage as it needs.
