I had an iPod (not video) but it died after 18months. I have a Zune now (and an iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen for workouts).
The Zune device is great. I have only had one issue with the Zune music management software but nothing serious. The marketplace needs some help as they use points to buy music rather than actual dollars (its weird). You can load your favorite video formats on the Zune. However, this is the big downer... there are no videos yet for sale in the Zune marketplace. iTunes has tons of videos.
Creative's Zen Vision:M and Vision:W are excellent video players too. They will also work with Amazon's UnBox video service and Wal-mart's new video download service.

The iPod is plenty extra constructive for quite some amonuts of motives. The iPod is speedy and straightforward. i quite have in no way had a Zune yet felt that the iPod is plenty extra handy. Plus the Zune is huge and isn't any longer ordinary to take around, Plus The songs you positioned on it are no longer yours. The iPod is extra uncomplicated on account which you purely put in your credit card variety and initiate figuring out to purchase! and that i'm no longer formally useful if The Zune even facilitates you to've your very own Library. you need to purchase the songs on iTunes and save the songs on your library in case you haven't any longer have been given sufficient memory. So i might could recommend getting the iPod. don't get the iPod shuffle. thank you to no longer ordinary without exhibit.

http://hddplayerinfo.blogspot.com/...
Capacity up to 500GB, plays almost all known video/audio/picture formats. Generally it sells without hard drive, you can buy and install any (standard PC hard drive) or use from old PC - depends of your budget. And can change it any time. Installation is very simple: open box, fix hard drive with for screw, close box.
price:
player (enclosure) ~$150
300GB hard drive ~$80
500GB hard drive ~$180
compare with ipod: 500GB player will cost ~$330!
