either the hold switch has been moved or the internal hard drive had a brain fart. find the reset hole and insert a paper clip and GENTLY push it in (you will not lose anything). If that does not work then it is toast.

If you have an iPod from 1st Generation to 3rd Generation hold down Menu and Play/Pause at the same time...
An iPod from 4th Generation+ hold downMenu and the Select Button
dont worry! It wont erase music! iPods just need a little refresh like a computer once and awhile, so this restarts it. No music loss or anything!
Hope that helps!!!

check and see if it is locked which is up on top that thing that goes left to right well move it a few times. If that doesn't work then check if it's charge it. Call Tech. Support if you need help also and they can help you all the way down, your ipod might be out of warranty but they will tell you that. They can send a box for you and they will ship it back to the company and they will fix it all up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep me posted!!
