I own more than 40 CDs and want to purchase an iPod, but I have no idea wether it's worth it or not. Some of my friends say it is, but some of my other friends say there is no point if you already have a bunch of CDs and a CD player. Only serious answers please. Thanks in advance!

I own an iPod, have access to flash drives, and have seen others compress their library, but directions on all of these would be helpful.

I have an brand new iPod Video, and the USB cord it connects with to the computer is version 2.0. My USB port only adapts to version 1.0, so when I connect it I end up with a pop-up that says it won't run as fast. Then when I go to iTunes, and try File >> Update iPod, it's greyed out so I can't do that.

Is there any way to update songs to my iPod in this condition? If there's software needed, how experienced do you have to be to install it?

I want to make CD-R recordings of some out-of-print cassettes and vinyl records that I already own. This is not to violate copywrite as I don't go for that - this is simply for personal use. I have some brand new high-end PC's so, that end I got covered.

What software do I need?
Is it Freeware or commercially available?
How can I enhance the new sound files before creating the CD copies?
Which file format is best?
Should file compression be used?

Do I just plug the playback device directly into my sound card or is there more to it than that?

Or is it better to hire the work done by someone who knows what they are doing?

If you got links to reference websites, that would be great. Thanks.

My sister and I each have a iPod Nano and seperate computers. Could I upload a song from a CD onto her computer and plug in my iPod to put the CD on it? What effect would it have on my iPod? Will the songs be erased or changed?

I found the entire song from the Audi commercial where she sings "Streets of Tomorrow" because it sounded like Annie Lennox. Anyway, the song is by Carla Vallet and I really like it! Anyone else hear the whole thing?
