Bad battery probably or the cord itself is messed up. Does it say it's charging? If it does, then it's the battery, if it doesn't say its charging, then I would say its the cord

You said luminated, if the backlight it on it drains the battery.

Try restarting the computer with the ipod linked to it, while this is happening keep your fingers on the menu and centre button on the ipod then when you are logged on to your computer take your fingers off, this should make the bar move to charge. If not repeat

Read the manual with respects to the do not disconnect sign, are you sure you have not pressed UPDATE on the ipod updater? (where it gives you the option to restore or update..never press restore, this is not on the iTune at all it something separate). If it is, then the do not disconnect sign will be on there for time, you need to press 'X' on that then just update the ipod under file on iTunes, the do no.. sign will disappear

Hope this helps.

2 poss reasons. 1 The charger is not charging or 2 the battery in your Ipod is dead and needs to be replaced somehow. Not sure how to do that though. regards Johnno

OK Apparently on the boxes you can find a number to ring to send them to a repair centre... though they may charge you if you've owned it over a certain amount of time. Otherwise, go to an electrical store and ask there about it.

Go to the Mac store with your receipt, original box, and all the components, tell them your problem. If it is less than a year or two old you may be able to get a new one

I had this problem with my digital camera because the battery was not seated properly. Take them out and put them back in.
