i think you should purchase an mp3 player.shop around before you decide on an ipod because there are definitly players out there that cost a lot cheaper but offer the same thing an ipod does. i had about 25 cds and a bunch of music files and recently bought one of these babies

it's pretty good, there's a lot more features than a nano and yeah you can put like 2000 songs on it. yup. but anyways shop around for the best one before you decide on an ipod

Yes! It is SO worth it. You wont believe how wonderful an iPod is compared to carrying around your CD's and bulky CD player. Try it, you'll never know how you went without it!
(By the way, my husband and I have hundreds of CD's. I dont think that is something to consider when making this decision because you are going to put your CD's on the iPod anyway.)

It's interesting that you'd ask because I don't think i-pods are worth their weight unless you have at least 25-30 Cd's to download. So, you are good to go! It's the most convenient musical device on the market, you can even use it with a tape adapter (like the ones for portable CD players) and listen to ALL your Cd's in your car, without any discs!

i would say yes.
it's not just that you have cd's but having an ipod is like taking your 40 cd's everywhere you go. and even now you can buy a attatchment for your caar so you plug in your ipod and it's plays your music over the speakers. i love my ipod and im glad i worked my butt of for the money to get it.

I think it's worth it, you have all your songs in one convenient little package, insted of inserting cds into the player, then putting it back into the case and getting a new cd to play. It practically eliminates the hassle of changing cds. Just think of having a mini jukebox in your hands. I never looked back on cds.......

i thought the same thing when the whole ipod craze started......im still a teenager and i have ~100 some cds, so i thought that getting an ipod would be a waste to all of the cds that i spent my money on.
i recently got a video one for my birthday, though, and it seriously is so wonderful! you can buy a cord that connects it to your stereo, you can hook it up to your car, etc...and with the video ones, you can connect it to your tv and watch your downloaded tv shows that way. its so much more convenient than cds.
i definitely recommend them...go for it!
