Because IPODS are pieces of CRAP! I had to go through THREE of them before we finally got one from Apple that WORKED! I spent three hours on the phone with an Apple agent one day doing everything he said and FINALLY they sent me a new one, and THAT one didn't work either!!! I called back and said, "I WILL NOT spend another minute on the phone with APPLE, send me another IPOD." And they did. And then again....THREE OF THEM! Finally got one that worked and it's been ok since.

i know you mentioned something that said ipod updater, which I assume is the small rectangle that is not on the atual iTunes.

Click on file on itunes, then click update iPOD (or whatever you have called it).

Are the songs on the library but not on the ipod then?

you could change song already on your computing device to itunes. What you favor to do is spotlight each and every of the song you opt for in itunes (CTRL +A). then you good click and click houses. you want to remodel your song to WAV format (more beneficial effectual move) and then the position it says "Opens With", change it to Itunes. Or, you could only positioned a CD into your computing device and import into itunes.
