Can anyone recommend a good cordless home phone that has clear reception and the least static? Right now I have a Uniden 2.4Ghz cordless phone and it's terrible - my cell phone gets better reception!

the second phone line was turned off, now I just want to change it so I can use the jack for the second line into the original phone line. How can I do this? Basically I want to activate TIVO in one room that has a de-activated phone line from a second line that's not used anymore. I'd like to change that line to the only line that's working, so I can connect the TIVO

I paid the bill but the phone isn't working.it is only 6 months old and when you try to call someone instead of a tone you hear a very loud noise and when I tried to call my phone with my mobile you can hear the ringing tone in my mobile but you can't hear the phone itself ring.what is the problem?
the phone is a BT Freestyle7250 there is a base with the phone which is also handsfree if needed.
