Everyone's right....*69 will give you the last number that called you. BUT, if the caller's number is blocked, then it will do you no good.

If *69 doesn't work and the prank caller doesn't stop, then call the police. They can work with the phone company to figure out who's prank calling you and "convince" them to stop.

EDIT: Just so you know, the phone company will NOT just blindly give you the phone number of someone who's number is blocked just because you ask them to. Really, call the police. Repeatedly prank calling someone is harrassment and is illegal.

Here's Reverse / Whose Number Lookup page. If you're talking about cell phones, you usually have to pay for that. I've had pretty good luck just using Google a phone number to find out who's calling. If you are researching a quantity of numbers, though, I suppose, you might want a service. I can't imagine why the average person would need to research a quantity of numbers, though, so I assume this is business-related, and it then seems only fair that you pay for a service. But maybe it's not.

Same thing is happening to me. I rec'd a call at 6am yesterday and this morning, I answered and a man with an accent said: How are you? and I hung up. He called me over and over but he got my ans. machine. Today alone he has called me over 10 times, I can hear a noise that int'l calls make. I tried the *69 (for $2.00) but there's no record. I tried the *57 and CenturyLink charged me $5.00, the recording said it was successful and I should report it to the police but did not give me the number.

This is the best option to get a background check https://tr.im/ICneZ It is important to keep in mind that a free background check on the Internet will only take you so far and also that some companies may only update their information periodically therefore you may be looking at information that is no longer relevant (such as an address for example). Before beginning a search on someone else consider doing one on yourself to see what information you come across. Is the information accurate or not?

After they call push *69 That's the star key - 6 -9 . That should give you the last # dialed, if it is not unlisted or a phone card calling you.
