I have a hunt group with 7 lines for a business. The third line has bad static and is unusable. If I disconnect the line, the hunt group ends there. That essentially brings the system down to 2 lines, which is simply not enough. Is there any way to keep the third line busy for a long time so that the hunt group "skips" over it? At least until the phone company can fix the line itself.

These telemarketers keep calling me. What should I do? What should I say to make them stop? Hanging up on them doesn't work.

Each time I have an incoming call on my original phone line my phone, broadband and internet lights go out on my home hub. I cant answer the phone as it wants to screen the call. I have checked everything cable wise and even put in a new dsl filter. I have also tried the home phone at another point and it still happens.I can recieve calls fine on the hub phone.
BT online help couldnt help and the broadband help number has me in the longest queue in the world!
I can ring out ok with the hub phone and the home phone.
Any suggestions?

There was a lightening strike on the local exchange. Many peoples phones were effected for many days. BT came out to our house and the engineer said that we would be charged because it was our socket front that was damaged. They replaced the socket front at a cost of £5.88. They charged me £115 for the call out. They say they are not responsible for lightening damage. I say, the lightening struck the exchange, NOT my house so they ARE responsible! Can ANYONE with knowledge of these things please let me know if I have a leg to stand on?
Many Thanks.
PS I will post this again later so I can get as many replies as possible. Please don't grass me for repeated postings if you see it again!

I live in the U.S. and my girlfriend lives in England (Nottingham) for the year. She gave me a number to use when calling her (beginning with 0044) that just doesn't work, friends. I've also tried other things, like 01144, or something, but I can't seem to get my head around it. Also, I'm using a calling card (using a land phone), if that makes any difference. So could someone help me get through to my lover?

I have two Uniden cordless phones. One has a fairly new battery the other is older. Neither will hold a charge after chargeing about 12 hours. I asked the girl who works here if she wiped the charger contacts with the pledge rag. She said no. I think she is lieing, BOTH phones? What can I use that I have here to clean the contacts?
