Question is vague. If he has two phone lines, it is possible to have one jack. There are Four lines on the phone line, Two for one active phone line and two for the other active phone line. Then he can have the phone that can handle two lines. He just presses a button for line 1 or press the other button for line two. He is paying for two lines. Maybe he uses one for the computer and the other for his home phone too. If you get a screw driver, loosen the lines on your jack you will see 4 lines, but only two work as you only pay for one line. The other two will not work.

Most phone jacks are able to accommodate two phone lines. You can have your line disconnected from his jack by the phone company (or someone else that know how to wire phone lines).
