Take a telephone that you know is good (borrow one from your neighbor or friend) take it outside to the network interface box. Open the box there should be a test jack inside if you have dial tone. Then the problem lies inside your house ( your telephone, the wires, or a telephone jack) If you have no dial tone from the network interface box then it is your telephone providers problem.

plug your phone into the d-mark outsde of you house...it is a little grey box that is kept closed by a single phillips screw...unplug the phone line plug and plug in your basic home phone....if there is a dial tone the problem is witht the wires in the house...other wise is it up to the phone company........this is assumming you are not using a voice over IP such as vonage..

hope that helps

Your phone may be bad so try another and if that doesn't work, I suspect the problem is in the box they installed on your house.
