I love Socom but after I got my PS3 I dont know what else is similar in terms of control and shooter type. I dont even know what a 1st, 2nd and 3rd person shooter like, but I like how Socom is..
I got the 80G by the way if that matters.

Im getting a PS3 80gb for Christmas. I'll admit I have not looked into this system at all. Is it a lot of upkeep as far as software and viruses? Whats this "backwards" you all are mentioning? Also I was told I need to purchase a wireless router for my home computer internet?

Hey

1. Does the ps3 support youtube vids? If not, can I download them onto the ps3 hardrive and watch them?

2. Ive got a standard definition TV. I was wondering, will the graphics look that bad? I'll usually be playing it about 3-4 metres away on a 28 inch screen. And the game graphics I'm concerned about are Oblivion. Will they still look really good for that game?

Uncharted Drake's Fortune. I just rented COD4 last night that's not a 10 game, 9 ok maybe. Uncharted weakness is it's short though. Right? *** Creed just looks to repetitive to me and a lot of jumping and climbing for nothing.

Okay, so I've been looking to buy a new PS3 because I've been a big fan of the Playstation since the PS1 back in God knows when.

I've been thinking of buying a 60GB PS3 because I heard it has WiFi capabilities which allows you to go online (after buying an Ethernet cable of course) without having to connect to a PC. Of course there is the new 80GB PS3 as well.

So I have just two questions. Should I wait until January/Feburary of next year to buy a new PS3 and should I get the 60GB or the new 80GB console?

Here is my set up. I have a yamaha 6.1 system that does not support hdmi, so I haved an optical cable going from the ps3 to the yamaha system for sound.
As far as teh ps3 goes, I have a standard 19 pin hdmi, male to male cable. My question here is, do the HDMI cables that have the compenent cable end (blue red green) give better picture quality? Or am I good with my hdmi cable?
PS. should I set the ps3 to FULL hdmi or limited?

I just bought a new HDTV with 1080p and I'm contemplating whether to buy a PS3 or just a regular Blu-Ray player. The PS3 has great features for the same price as a regular Blu-Ray player, but I'm not much of a gamer, so I'm wondering if the PS3 upconverts DVD movies to at least 1080i.

I have the 60gb model. The only game i have so far is heavenly sword. Here's the problem. I press the ps button on the controller to turn on the system when it's in standby mode, then i insert heavenly sword into the disc drive and it loads, but right after it says playstation 3 on the screen it kind of freezes. The screen goes blank. I think the ps3 still tries to load it beacause it makes that sound but it won't load. I then press the ps button and choose " quit game". This does nothing. The screen freezes again and the only way to stop the game is to eject it. Then the second time i insert the disc it works. Does th system have a problem or does this just happen?

Ok, for christmas this year im undecided on which console to get. So if you own one give me a suggestion based on the following, thanks. I greatly enjoy playing online thats what i like the most, and alot of my friends play 360 live . I do not really want to spend alot as this is a more secondary system to my wii; to feed my hardcore gamer. so i would get the lowest version of the console because its all thats really needed. I do enjoy good graphics and blu-ray but i dont even have a HD tv. I do like how the PS3 is really reliable, but i take very good care of my systems either way. I like how the PS3 is very strong and will stay around awhile as well as new games reaching their full potential, rather than 360 having like 2 more years before something new, so I get my moneys worth. I also love the epic feeling PS3 brings. I hate the fact 360 makes you buy the wireless USB for internet. (i cant use eth-net cable) What do you guys think?

When i try to click on a file which would open in my pc through the windows media player it does nothing on the PS3 broweser. Is there any way to make it work?? and some vids i have to download to watch instead of watching them in the browser. Any hints to make it all work?? I watch sporting events on the net and through ps3 it would be on my tv. thanks for help
