we're about to discontinue our phone and internet service... will the ps3 still worth owning without online? which do you think is better without online, ps3 or xbox 360??? do you recommend to swap my ps3 for an xbox360???

wuhtout online games like Halo 3 and Gears Of War (halo especially with it's weak campaign mode and re-used level design, ii played it through in a mini marathn the other day) 360 is still the weaker of the two
PS3 exclusive games dont rely on online and PS3 is better in every way.

one thing that annoys me about 360 fanboys is how they say that 360 provides a better online experiance
i dont see how this is so when both go smoothly wihtout much lag [im assumiong this for 360] and have the same features
except ours is free and comes with warhawk and home

According to 360 fanboys, XBL is everything or nothing, so the PS3 would be the better system without online play. The only exception would be Warhawk, which is online only. Like those 360 fanboys said, PS3 online sucks, so if online for the PS3 sucks, then the PS3 is the better system without online play. HOME hasn't been released yet, so I don't think you're going to be missing much anyway.

The first guy has it right. The halo is a big deal only for it online feature. I myself played the first halo and thought it sucked and until I talk to a xbox fan i didn't realized that halo depended on online. Every guy i talked to didn't say much about it game play only that the online is cool. Same as gear of war heard it was quite a simple game but that the online game is awesome. I would suggest you keep your ps3 console and continue to play your games. Games that don't required online that are awesome to play are uncharted drake fortune, heavenly sword, and any sports game if your into those type of games. Anyways you can always go to your local libary to download the upgrade for your ps3 or at a friend using a memory card....good luck

stick with the ps3... i know how u feel.. but theres a possible solution to ur internet problem.. just take ur ps3 around ur house and search for wifi signals from neighbors. i got my internet shut off about 8 months ago and ive been using my neighbors internet ever since. also the 360 will not have any good games for a long long time and ps3 is more focused on campain mode before online play.
