For the playstation 3, whats better for sound and video?

Here is my set up. I have a yamaha 6.1 system that does not support hdmi, so I haved an optical cable going from the ps3 to the yamaha system for sound.
As far as teh ps3 goes, I have a standard 19 pin hdmi, male to male cable. My question here is, do the HDMI cables that have the compenent cable end (blue red green) give better picture quality? Or am I good with my hdmi cable?
PS. should I set the ps3 to FULL hdmi or limited?

It's better to use optical for sound and HDMI 1.3a cable for video.
