Sony's taking in on the chin pricing the 80gb where they are. I really doubt you'll see a price drop in the near future, maybe in another year, but I doubt you'll see one before November 2008. Enjoy and I hope I put your mind at east :)

Not very likely that there's going to be a price drop. According to Sony, the PS3 (especially the 40 gb) has picked up significantly in sales on Black Friday, and Sony sees the trend continuing for the Christmas holidays.
But even if there is a price drop, Best Buy will give you the refund difference if it's within 30 days.

There isn't going to be any type of price drop. During the black friday all retail store did was add a game or a controller. I could say their might be a bundle deal of some sort but there isn't going to be any type of price drop not for awhile. Like one of the guy mention the ps3 is worth more than it selling but sony is making up to it losses by games and onlines feature such as add on etc.

Chances are low. Sony sells PS3 for the price, which is lower, than it's actual production cost. The company gains its profits from game sales. Sony did with PS2 too (in the beginning, after a while, technologies became cheaper).

I just don't see how they can, they're losing tons of money every day they sell them at that price. The only reason they're selling at that price now is because they want to get the install base up. If they had enough people buying them at what I bought it for ($600 for my 60GB), you wouldn't see the price this low now.
They just had too many people saying that it was too expensive, too much so they had to lower the price. Now they're selling them, they'll hold that price for some time. In fact, recently the PS3 has been outselling the Wii in Japan so you're not going to see a price drop anytime soon.
