I saw at best buy a head set for the PS3 for $50, and it looks just like the head set i have for my phone and I was wondering if I could use it for my PS3.

Yes, most of bluetooth headsets will work, however not ALL of them. It won't hurt to try.

yes, ps3 support nearly all generic peripheral both bluetooth and usb. Which mean 99% of all usb pc peripheral and bluetooth headset are compatible. I never heard of any incompatible bluetooth headset yet. Even a XBOX 360 Camera works on PS3 through usb. I recommend a usb headset since they are more clearer and cheaper. But since you have a bluetooth headset already, test that one out first. Have an old socom headset lying around?
