Don't people know by now that they are getting ripped off by most of these stores ...ie Best Buy, Circuit City and others......Plus, you have to pay sales tax on top of the rip off prices!!

I went into Best Buy tonight just for giggles and they had a compact flash extreme III for $35 over what anyone on the internet sales them for ....And then the cameras and other accessories are doubly as high! How do these places stay in business ripping off the public? Why don't people shop on the internet and most the time you even get free delivery too.....I DONT GET IT.

I am looking for a digital camera that will take better pictures of indoor performances. I am typically about 50 feet from the stage and the performers are moving. I use a tripod, but since it seems too far away to benefit from a flash (and the flash would interfere with the performance), the shutter speed is slow and hence I get a lot of blurred pictures as the performers move on stage. Are there certain features I should look for in a new camera that will help me? Any suggestions on a recommended camera?

I'm thirteen yr's old. My camera got stolen and I need to replace without my mom finding out. We went through a lot of trouble to get it. I only take it out about twice a week. I never left it anywhere or was careless. Someone literally reached their hand into my bag and stole it:[ Before when I asked this question, some people were very helpful. They suggested car washing, mowing lawns, raking leaves. I took this into consideration but I live in an apartment in a very busy city. And the truth is, I can't think of one person with even a lawn to mow. Then, my best friend came up with the idea of a yard sale. She lives two cities down from where I live. The only problem is, in the city she lives in they charge for having a yard sale. And I have no money to begin with. I can't tell my mom, that's not even an option right now. I need to make the money myself. I would sell my black ipod nano 1gig, but I've heard that the highest someone will buy it is around $60 because it's old. Help?

How do I go about doing this with digital cameras? I have a regular film camera (Pentax k1000), But I would really like to avoid the hassle of processing infrared film. I also would rather not send out my SLR camera and have it altered to an infrared camera because it is the only one I use. Is there any (gasp) photo editing software that can change your photos to infrared?

I have a camera that cost me $120 when I first purchased it. It was dropped eight months ago too many times until finally the flash broke so there’s no flash. I still have the mini-reader and the card. How much could I sell the camera for in eBay or is it not worth it anymore?

I currently have a Powershot S1 IS with 10x optical zoom and 3.2 megapixels. I wonder what other combinations of zoom and megapixels would give equal quality. For example, suppose I get less zoom, but greater megapixels. Could I crop the photo to the same pixel dimensions and get as good a picture? Could anyone illustrate with sample photos taken with different cameras?

I have two questions regarding digital cameras.

I am going to purchase a digital camera before this summer starts here. I was hoping someone could point me to a camera model (or models) that can take photos quickly, a small camera, long battery life, and can hold a lot of photos. Megapixels are not that huge of a deal since I know photo quality comes from the lense.

Now my second question is, is it true that only SLR digital cameras can take a photo instantly?

Thanks.
