Thinking of buying a Canon EF 70-300 mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. Anyone used this before?

I am thinking of buying this lens and have seen a lot of good reviews but also a few bad ones. Anyone used it and have an opinion based on personal experience? Also...I am fairly new at this and was wondering what the DO means. lol

It has decent reviews

But not as good as the L lenses of course.
