Cameras - January 2007

Looking to upgrade from a 4.0 MP Olympus...

Looking for decent:
macro pics (important)
low light pics
6MP or higher
video function (I know camera videos tend to suck)
under $400 (less is better if I can get away with it =D )

Any suggestions for me?

On my Digital Camera I can plug it into my computer and I can use it as a webcam, but my battery dies so fast, even when I'm just taking pictures normally with it. So I'm wondering, should I be able to plug it into the computer and the computer gives my camera the power without draining my battery? And also I can only take pictures for about a half an hour with my camera, anyone else have this problem? If its important I have a Pentax Optio E10 digital camera model.

Alright so I finally got a memory card for my digital camera, and now I want to put my new pics on my computer, but I cant figure it out! On my moms and my brothers cameras they just have to press a button on the camera and the pictures will load onto the computer, but mine doesn't do that! I put the software that came with the camera onto my computer and I cant seem to find it, I installed it twice and still nothing. So I go onto My Computer and at the very bottom it says Scanners and Cameras were it has my brother Kodak Easy Share there, my HP Scanner and then it says Pentax Optio E10 Video Camera (which is my camera) and I click on it and then it makes my camera like a webcam sorta and I can take pictures from my computer. But it doesn't say anything about the pictures that are on my digital camera, I dont get it! Could someone please help me out. Its a Pentax E10 model and yes I have all the cords plugged into my computers usb port.

its so bright when i take a close up pic of someone it only shows whiteness [if they're pale] but it doesn't show much in the dark at all. what should i do? please help.

I'm having a problem with my camera...It's a samsung digimax A 503....a few times it has taken Awesome pics, but every so often, and now currently...it takes horrible photos.....it's not getting any god detail in...almost blury, and it didn't always do this...It has been like this for a week or two now and I don't know what to do...before it only lasted a day or so....Is it a setting? I cleaned it and it still isn't working...any suggestions?

My Camera always gets spoil after 1 year, i've never drop it at all and it always die within a year, can anyone tell me how to prolong it, if i dun use the camera do i take out the batteries? when i need than put it back??

Bought a new sd700 from an online store...brand new..

tried pictures and they are blurry....

tried doing th settings to superfine mode and auto modes.did not help much..

my camera is a kodak easyshare c310 and the batteries always die out fast. i noticed this in my moms camera as well. do i have to buy a special kind of battery? if so which ones?

I had asked a question about the best dSLR in $1000 to $2000 range. It was only after i posted da question did i realise that even though i have been a photography enthusiast all my life i dont really know much about Photography. Please help me in my research as I belong to India where this is a huge sum of money(a few months salary 4 me), but i plan to skin myself apart after i join my job as i wanted to have a good camera all my life but was denied of the luxury due to limited means. Second one I've bought that shuts itself off, displaying a low battery sign. First one (Vivitar) I took back and it was replaced, then it went again after 1-2 years. Second one (I.T. Works), the same after getting it home.

I had to go travel a couple of months ago and i had a camera and some film that I had not used yet. I had to get on an airplane and I've been told film would be unuseable if it goes through the x-ray machines. So can I not use my film now? Cause I have 3 unused film cartridges.

I am a novice photographer and am looking to get a Canon EOS Rebel Xt because the price is right now and I feel the camera is still good quality. I know that the lens is a much more important factor at this time then getting the newer model of camera. What is the best all-around lens to purchase for standard pictures of the kids and vacations as well as action shots in soccer games, etc.? I am interested in learning photography. I am an amature now with 3 cameras. Minolta maxxum 7000, Sony Cybershot, and Nikon Coolpix S6. I want more professional looking photos, and I am interested in going to Medium and to Large Format cameras to acheive this. They all look so different. I think Hasselblad is the most common for fashion photographers, but will I need to go that strong for wedding and portait photography? I've checked out many sites, ebay included, but want advise before spending $$$ on the wrong outfit. Thanks.

Does anyone have any experience with this camera? I'm looking for a basic point-and-shoot camera that will take great pics with not a lot of tweeking.
The most important elements for me are:
- Imagine stablization (this camera apears to have it)
- Not a long wait between taking pictures
- Decent macro
- Decent low-light pics

Any thoughts? :)

i own a pentax spotmatic i got frm ebay .. i also bought a new lense 75-205mm .. and i took 2 films and i finished em both .. but when i got em to the 1hr camera store .. they came out to be all empty ?? i ony got one pic on it and tht was mad blurry is it the camera causing this or is it the lense plz help or could it be somthin else ??

I'm going to buy a new digital camera, any ideas on a good choice? I'm looking for something fairly small, at least 6 MP and 3x optical zoom, and in the 150-300$ range. I'm not looking to take ultra complicated pictures, so something easy to use that takes good general pictures without a lot of messing around.
If I have any particular requests, it would be a decent macro, and decent low light pictures.

Any suggestions? :)
