I have a gray cord and i tried to import to windows movie maker. I did a couple of tapes and listened and i didn't have any audio. I know when I took a class last year we used firewire with our cameras but is that because without the firewire you cannot download the audio? I would like to do it with the cord that was supplied if it is possible.

I have a JVC Digital Still Function WIDE(16:9)MODE Data Battery Video Camera. I installed the software that came with it, and I've plugged it into it's USB ports on the camera and on the computer, but no introduction splash screen pops up, what am I doing wrong?

Will it even transfer the tape that I recorded with it onto the computer?

I would like it to transfer so that I can burn the video off the camera onto a DVD, as my computer has a DVD burner in it.

according to http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/CamInfo-Selects-2006.htm, the best camcorder of the year is the "Canon Elura 100". Is there a camera to better suit my needs, that isn't too much more expensive? (Futureshop.ca is $599.99 right now). The Canon Elura 100 is MiniDv. Should I go with a newer technology? What is the newer technology? I'm looking for something under $1000-ish. Also, I need something Mac compatible. Anyone know what file format the Canon Elura 100 has it's movies made into? Thanx!

I have a Mac and use iMovie and heard that transferring from the camcorder's format into iMovie is a hassle. Would this be the same with any hard drive camcorder, or some thing specific with this JVC. I was going to get the 20 GB hard drive. I only plan on using it for family videos, do you think I'd need a larger hard drive?

Purchased the Camcorder in Dubai with intended use in USA. Was told that all I needed was an adapter to plug into the electical socket. Later learned that The Camcorder is PAL system-based. How may I watch the smaller DVD from this camcorder on the NTSC TV? Any DVD Converter Adapters, DVD Converter/Players? Any advice as to a particular website, model? Thanks, Bob

I want to buy a camcorder but haven't decided which type to get yet. Either the miniDVD or the minidv tapes look appealing. My purpose would be to record many discs of material and then take selected scenes from each, cut them into one continuous film and then burn onto a regular DVD like a movie-movie. Is this possible and/or very difficult? I haven't owned a camcorder since the VHS days so I'm thrilled at the new media possibilities. Any tips or advice would be wonderful!
I need: easily archived media (mini dvd, mini cassette) which will upload into a movie editing program to allow me to dub music over scenes, cut scenes, splice, etc etc...is this going to be the hardest thing I've ever done, or fairly simple?

Advise away....
