What is the best software to use in transferring video tape (from video camera) to DVD?

I have some recorded video tapes from my vacation and I want to put it to DVD. But I may need to edit first to make it look nice.

Well, the cheapest (since it comes with Windows for nothing), if not the most powerful, is Windows Movie Maker. It should suffice, however, if you just want to do some simple editing of your holiday videos. When you have edited it to your liking, it will let you add music and/or a commentary and/or sound effects and then burn the result to a DVD
