Consumer Electronics - 16 October 2007

I know that the PS3 has an optical port. Is there a certain adapter I can buy that'll work? Been searching for the answer but I haven't found a solution yet.

I am moving and I don't want to continue with my full Sky subscripton service - I think (at least for a while) the freesat channels would be OK for me - will I still be able to get them without doing anything else or do I have to pay for something or register? I will still have the exisitng card and equipment.- I can't get freeview in my area!!!

I heard it from a salesman a few days ago, and I asked 'em why?
and he said that plasma tv uses a kind of gas of something else that is so expensive and it can't last for too long. which means that the tv would have a very short lifespan.

What do you think of that?

I live in a dorm room and don't have the space for a full stereo set. However I do have a nice Harmon Kardon 2.1 speaker set that I plug my laptop in to that uses 1/8" jack. I don't need to take stuff off of my LP's to computer, I just want to listen to it for the most part. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

So, the 360 enthusiasts say Xbox Live is better than PSN. They're right. But, Sony will be expanding it into an ITunes-like media store and will be releasing HOME and will still make it free to all. So that debate will be even.

They also say the 360 game library is better right now. They're right. But, PS3 has 300 games coming out in the next year, including some very top choice exclusives. So, that debate will be even too.

They say the 360 has better graphics. It looked to me that PS3 launch with the same graphics, but have already surpassed the 360 with games like Heav.Sword and Lair.

So, lets have some fun and answer the question: When the 360 fanboys run out of excuses, what will they use to justify their system as the next-gen leader?

I think they'll stop making reasonble and logical excuses and simply resort to the tried and true argument of: "PS3 sux, iT's 2 expensve. Got nO Halo. GEt a XbOx 360. Biitcheez"

I have had the scroll since day one and cannot get rid of it. I recently put in a very expensive surge protector thinking it would help and the scroll is still there. It's not a very heavy line, but it is noticible. The scroll always starts at the bottom and goes to the top. HELP!!!

I hear the audio when the Video 2 input is selected, however I don't get ANY video, which prevents me from seeing the "Setup" menu to adjust the video input. I feel I'm in a Catch 22 with no way out. I've attempted by using an "S" video cable, and without (using the yellow banana plug).
