I know that the PS3 has an optical port. Is there a certain adapter I can buy that'll work? Been searching for the answer but I haven't found a solution yet.

Sorry I forgot to say that I'm hooking my PS3 up to my LCD computer monitor and the monitor does not have speakers.

There IS a way to do that, however, you didn't specify if your PS3 is connected to your TV via Composite, Component or HDMI.

Either way, if you're using an HDMI connection the object here is to tell the PS3 to send Video one way and Audio another way. Do the following:

Option #1- If you're connected via RCA Composite cables (the ones that came with your console)

>Leave the Video RCA cable (yellow) plugged in to your TV
>Take the two other RCA cables (White/Red) and plug them to the PC speakers

Option #2 - If you're connected via Component cables (5 RCA cables- Red, Green, Blue for video, White and Red for Audio)

>Leave the Red, Green and Blues RCA cables plugged in to your TV
>Take the two other RCA cables (White/Red) and plug them to the PC speakers

Option #3 - If your connected via HDMI cable
Here is where you have to tell the PS3 to send the Video one way while sending the Audio another way

>Leave the HDMI cable plugged into your TV and PS3
>Plug in the Composite A/V cables that came with your console to the back of your PS3
>Go into the PS3's main menu
>Under AUDIO SETUP choose Composite A/V
>Under Display Setup you're going to leve it the way it is, HDMI.
>Plug the White and Red wires from the Composite cables to the PC speakers
Note: What this does, is it tells the PS3 to send the VIDEO through your HDMI wire while sending the AUDIO through your regular Composite A/V wires.

Now... the second part of your question I believe was if there was some sort of adapter for you to be able to hook up the RCA Audio wires to the PC speakers.... I'm not sure what type of PC speakers you have since you didn't specify that either, but I'm going to assume that the AUDIO-IN jack on the PC speakers is a MINI HEADPHONE jack.... if that's the case, the you're going to need a FEMALE RCA to Mini Jack "Y" split wire like this one:

If your PC speaker have RCA AUDIO-IN jacks, then all you have to do is take the two RCA wires (White and Red) coming from the back of your PS3 and plug them straight into the PC speakers.

I HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK!

You can do it like this - with use of supplied PS3 cable and this adapter. It'll cost around 5$ or less. You can get it from any good electronics store. Here's an example of female RCA <-> female mnin jack adapter:

I'm guessing - plug in the PS3 as usual, and hook up the PC speakers to the headphone jack of the TV... ?
