I hear the audio when the Video 2 input is selected, however I don't get ANY video, which prevents me from seeing the "Setup" menu to adjust the video input. I feel I'm in a Catch 22 with no way out. I've attempted by using an "S" video cable, and without (using the yellow banana plug).

You will need to provide a model number to get more help.

If it is brand new you may have a bad one out of the box or it was damaged, take it back.

A few things have to check. Is your TV video in 2 is working with other devices (TV games or VCD player)? Usually DVD player default output should be composite video output which uses RCA (banana plug). You should also try with another TV set or camcorder to double confirm. If it is really the problem you should go back to the shop for exchange.
