I heard it from a salesman a few days ago, and I asked 'em why?
and he said that plasma tv uses a kind of gas of something else that is so expensive and it can't last for too long. which means that the tv would have a very short lifespan.

What do you think of that?

Sony no longer makes Plasma TV's for the consumer market. However they still make Plasma monitors.

I believe your salesman was feeding you a bunch of bull.

That is right .Sony no longer make Plasma TV's. This is not due to expense or life span as Plasmas have the same life span as Plasma which is 60,000 hours. They believe LCD is better and the way forward.
