Consumer Electronics - 5 August 2007

I borrowed the gamecube game Zelda: The Wind Waker and a gamecube controller and memory card for my wii, but for some reason, the controller won't respond and i can't even make it into the game because i can't choose the agme over the mii
and i tried the game on someone elses gamecube and it worked so it's not the controller.
Is there something I am doing wrong for it not to work?

Again, I'm trying to connect a surveillance DVR to an older TV that has only an F connector on the back, and i'm wondering if that would transfer video and/or audio correctly.... it's not that I'm cheap; rather, i face many situations where i have to convert to or from VGA, s-video, DVI, RCA, BNC....etc. Thats why I'm trying to figure out exactly what can be connected to what!

I just bought a Gateway desktop (gm5472) which came with a tv tuner card in the back and integrated composite video and audio (red/white/yellow) in the front. It runs off of vista, but it does have the windows media center application. Im media center I can only see the RF input from the tuner card because it wants me to select the tv type (sattilite, cable, antenna) I only have an RF antenna and that is all it sees.

How come it never sees the s-video in the back or the composite in the front when i run their little wizard and have it detect video sources?

I even have the PS2 running and playing a DVD so that I know that there is a signal of some kind to see.

my sony DSC S500 got splashed in water after an incident over at blizzard beach water park. i put it in my car for it to warm up and get dry but all it does everytime i try to turn it on is flash on for a minute, show the cybershot logo and then turn off.

got broken recently! I am going on vacation soon though, and am looking to buy a camera within the next week.

I know the people at the store could help..but I just wanted some opinions so I'm not walking in there blindly. So, if anyone could find me a camera that takes good, high quality pictures, but isn't the most expensive on the site (probably not over $600), then that would be lovely!

We have a really old tv. It is a symphonic and it only has one coax cable hook up in the back. We have tried about every way to hook up the dvd player to the box and have failed. We were told to get a RF modulator and then hook the tv up to that and then hook the cable box to the modulator and then connect the dvd video and audio cables to the modulator. For some reason, the tv still does not play video or sound on the tv.



One last note...our dvd player does not have a coax hook up. It only has an S-video out socket. A coax cable does not fit in it.

Keep in mind...I am a girl. I am not up to par with todays "electro lingo". Be specific. Don't tell me to call mediacom and ask them because they walked us through it and the only result we got was no cable on the tv set. Some technical support THEY have....blah. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I have a laptop the now and it isnt great for playing games on. So i was thinking about buying a Computer so i could play some of the games i currently own and some that have yet to be released that caught my eye. I currently own Battlefield 2142 ( I think thats right ) and C&C: Tiberium Wars. Also Bioshock and Unreal tournament 3 are games that i really want to play. Is buying a PC worth the hassle?
