Okay, I have a laptop the now and it isnt great for playing games on. So i was thinking about buying a Computer so i could play some of the games i currently own and some that have yet to be released that caught my eye. I currently own Battlefield 2142 ( I think thats right ) and C&C: Tiberium Wars. Also Bioshock and Unreal tournament 3 are games that i really want to play. Is buying a PC worth the hassle? Opinions would be great :) Best opinion gets Best answer

well as a frequent computer buyer I would recommend that you save your money and buy a high power fast laptop with a gig of RAM.. 1 gig of RAM is grreat for games on a laptop! But if you dont need it to travel with or if you use it just for games I would recommend buying a PC. You can get great PC's now for cheap money but that are still great for games!

So.. PC- Great for gaming
Laptop- only get if you want to travel with otherwise its not worth it

PCs are much better for gaming than laptops

If you don't move around a lot and do not need portability, then a PC is very good for the games you mentioned

Moreover, PCs like dell nowadays are getting cheaper and cheaper and you can always upgrade the components within

You are never going to get the "bang for the buck" in a laptop to do any serious gaming. That is what PC's are for. Faster CPU's, more memory and a heck of a lot better video system.
Not to mention a good joystick beats the crap out of those laptop excuses for a mouse.

Yes, if you buy smart you wont need to upgrade a computer for a few years before it is unable to play the latest games, this means that you need to get at least the midrange of the latest series of each piece of equipment

for example this means a midrange video card from the nVidia 8 series, at least an Intel E6400 CPU and 1GB of DDR2 RAM

your better off getting a console because you won't have to go through the hastle of updating your computer constantly to play the newest games. Most games for PC are also on console
