I do not have a clue. I wonder about this too sometimes. My guess would be that its blue during the day and black in the evening/night. ?

The background color changes with the season and with the time of day. Around 5 or 6 p.m., the background color slowly changes to black. My background color is currently blue also, but the blue color will slowly change into a different color by September.

In the morning it shows the colour of the month and in the evening it becomes black, the next morning it will show the colour again and the cycle repeats, the colour changes every month.

It changes colour according to the time of day (black at night) and month. its quite normal. I've changed mine to a wallpaper!
